How do you continue on when your world changes in one night?
First, I apologize for the long ass delay. A couple of months ago, my best friend died. And then literally a day later, I was in the hospital with the flu. Needless to say, I’ve put pause on EVERYTHING and I’m just now starting to get back into the flow of things.
I recently saw an Unsung episode on Chanté Moore and I was reminded about how often I used to sing this song growing up. In fact, I was a big fan of hers and I’m ashamed to admit that I fell off. So, me and iTunes got reacquainted with her music.
I had a podcast episode that I had planned to release today, but after careful consideration I’ve decided not to. It was nothing controversial– I couldn’t fix the audio. I’d recorded in a new environment and you can hear incessant background noise that I’d hoped my mic hadn’t picked up on.
But it did. And try as I did to isolate and tone the sounds down, it just muddled the audio that I did want you guys to hear. So I’ll re-record it with the interviewee at a time when she can fit me in again.
In the meantime, how is your week going so far? I’d actually gotten some writing down yesterday in the form of an outline for a kid’s picture I want to write. While that wasn’t my project this week, I wasn’t about to shut off the muse faucet after I’d been stuck for a while. Now let’s hope this transfers over when I go back to writing my novel this week!
Attention my fellow writers on the East Coast…
Happy June guys!
…but seriously, when did June get here? It really snuck up on me, how about y’all? 2015 is nearly halfway over—how crazy is that?! How are those New Year resolutions holding up?
Apologies for the long delay—my May family obligations were very time consuming. Everyone has graduated and my Girl Scout troop had their bridging ceremony, so the season has ended. It was cool to see the girls excited about the badges they’d earned over the year, and that 2 of my girls have crossed over to join the Juniors.
As for me, I’m in the mist of outlining the documentary I’ll be filming in Baltimore soon—über excited about it—and setting up some upcoming interviews for the podcast. I’ll be interviewing an indie author this Sunday, talking about her newly released book and our feelings about comic conventions. I’m getting better about podcast editing so the episode will be up within the next couple of days after we record. So stay tuned for that!
If you guys know about some Maryland-area authors or bloggers I need to interview, let me know. I enjoy talking with interesting people. On here, I’ll be highlighting some awesome and interesting blogs and/or podcasts you guys should check out. This will happen every other Friday, starting tomorrow.
Until next time!
I wanted to pop on here to share an update and some news about the podcast. First, a couple of weeks ago I had flown out to Los Angeles for a job interview at a production company. The interview went very well, but I wasn’t offered the job in the end.
Welcome to my new site! I’ll be posting some of my travels, podcast episodes, and my adventures in writing and acting. I’m still testing to make sure everything is working correctly so please let me know if certain links don’t work.
