This has been an interesting week. I feel that I’m slowly coming out of the slump I was in due to the clusterfuck of an election’s result, but I won’t be back to where I was before last Tuesday. I don’t any of us will be– those of us who didn’t vote for 45.
I’ve just recently had the words to express what it is that I’m feeling. At first, I was going to go on a social media blackout to reconcile my feelings with the election’s results. And then, I thought against it.
I recently saw an Unsung episode on Chanté Moore and I was reminded about how often I used to sing this song growing up. In fact, I was a big fan of hers and I’m ashamed to admit that I fell off. So, me and iTunes got reacquainted with her music.
Apologies that this post is a little late in the day, but I really wanted to get one posted despite all the busy work I had earlier today. I was going to make a Brian McKnight post, and then realized what today is; Michael Jackson was born on this day in 1958. I know my friend Billie has been BLASTING MJ all day– she’s his biggest fan.
I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out my favorite MJ song, and I don’t really think I have one. I mean, I love this song, and Smooth Criminal, and Thriller, and Human Nature… So I guess it’s safe to say that I pretty much almost all of his songs then. Funny thing, I don’t have any of his vinyls… So that’s another thing I’ve gotta add to the list of “Stuff I wanna buy”.
(I’ve got so many lists in my phone it’s ridic but that’s another post).
New job starts in a week, my mom is getting adjusted to London and my nephew was born a few days ago! So simcha all around! Gonna pop out to visit him now, so until next post!
Been on a 90s music kick all week so I thought to end it with this number. Apologies for the silence on this blog, I’ve been very busy with life in general.
I haven’t been here in a while– been very busy with my day job, finding a new job, and battling a summer cold. I’m taking a different allergy medication and it’s helping my asthma, so I’m happy to have my voice back. I’ve got some voice over stuff I’ve gotta get back to.
Anyways, I haven’t heard this song in a minute so enjoy!
Today’s Friday spotlight is on Lis’n Up Clothing! The Massachusetts-based company had come to my attention when they’d teamed up with Noor Tagouri— a Washington, D.C. based journalist who spearheaded the viral hashtag campaign #LetNoorShine—to create The Noor Effect. They’d just wrapped up The GIRL Tour in Boston, and I had the chance to speak with Adam Khafif, the CEO of Lis’n Up Clothing.
I’m taking a short writing break to do some copy editing for my publisher today– although the plot bunnies have been very tenacious.

No lie, for the longest time I had no idea that she was in a trash bag that was being pumped up. Honestly, I didn’t know what the hell she was in, lol!
Beep, beep. Who got the keys to the Jeep? What’s your favorite Missy or Timbaland song?
If you had been able to choose, would you rather have been an only child or part of a very large family?
(I like that this is coming and #NationalSiblingDay has already passed, lol!)
I love being part of a large family. My [maternal] grandmother was 1 of 13, so I’ve got a large extended family. Not to mention friends whom I’ve dubbed family. But honestly, I love my brother and sister with everything in me. They’ve seen me at my best, and at my worst. They’ve cheered me on, and given very much unsolicited advice. We might bicker and pick on each other like kids, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world. I love you guys!
Oh, I forgot to mention that I’m now on Snapchat. My handle is the same as instagram and twitter: murjanian. I don’t snap everyday, but when I do, it tends to come in bunches. Now that I’ve finally learnt how to use the face filter, I’m having loads of fun with it.
