No, the title isn’t a mistake. I purposefully typed it out that way. Because sometimes, you just gotta ask “Who is you?!” with the face.
The above image has really become my favorite meme since I’d found it sometime a couple of years ago. But tonight as I looked through my Instagram feed, I found a post I wanted to apply it to. And because of that rant inside my head, I was inspired to write this post.
(Shame that you can’t post images in the comments on IG, because I would’ve posted this there!)
I’m leaving for Europe later today (London, Paris, Milan) and I’m super excited! I’ve never been and am going to try to cram as much as I can in 4 days. I also just wanted to post a short post asking, what are you guys reading now? Since I’ve elected to leave my laptop home, I’m going to bring a couple of books with me and my tablet, which is housing about 100 books (I think!). I haven’t decided on which books yet, but they’d have to be mass-market paperbacks to save on space.
I do plan to vlog while I’m there since this is my 1st trip to these countries. And– depending on wifi– I may be snapchatting, so you can also follow me there (murjanian). When you’re traveling, what do you bring with you? Books? Movies? Tablet?
When I get back, I’ll post my 2017 goals list (overdue!) and update you guys on some upcoming trips and stuff.
This has been an interesting week. I feel that I’m slowly coming out of the slump I was in due to the clusterfuck of an election’s result, but I won’t be back to where I was before last Tuesday. I don’t any of us will be– those of us who didn’t vote for 45.
I’ve just recently had the words to express what it is that I’m feeling. At first, I was going to go on a social media blackout to reconcile my feelings with the election’s results. And then, I thought against it.
I recently saw an Unsung episode on Chanté Moore and I was reminded about how often I used to sing this song growing up. In fact, I was a big fan of hers and I’m ashamed to admit that I fell off. So, me and iTunes got reacquainted with her music.
Been on a 90s music kick all week so I thought to end it with this number. Apologies for the silence on this blog, I’ve been very busy with life in general.
On twitter, a writer friend (@CalvinStarnesOG) had started to promote #gooddeedfriday, in which he would promote tweets and connect people however he could who were trying to get a foot into the Hollywood industry*. He’s retweeted a few of my tweets seeking editing clients and I’d like to pay it forward as well.
Hop on over to twitter and send me a tweet (@murjanian) that you’d like me to RT for you today. Not that I wouldn’t do it any other day during the week, but I’d like to help spread this [hashtag] idea.
*Disclaimer: He will NOT read scripts.
Man I miss The Fugees. They had a presence and chemistry that very few groups nowadays can match.
My week was infused with some goodness right at the very beginning. Yesterday I’d received news that I’m going to be an aunt! I’m super excited to meet my nephew later this year, and I actually got some writing done yesterday as well. I’ve been playing with the idea of writing a tv pilot, so I mapped out some notes and the beginnings of an outline. We’ll see how it goes.
In pressing news, I’ve got a semi-deadline from my publisher on my newest chapter of my novel, so I hope I don’t disappoint. I’ve got to make sure I set aside some days to write it out. Hope your week is infused with some creative goodness!
Our house is fully prepared for Christmas, and I’m so happy we were able to pull it off, especially with the last-minute shopping I had to do yesterday after work. One of my favorite things to do is wrap presents. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the excitement I get when someone opens it and is genuinely happy about the gift I got for them. My other favorite thing– besides eating– is seeing all the pretty lights. It’s always put me in a festive mood. Though retail shopping can be very stressful– I try not to let it be for me– I’ve always liked going to the mall and seeing the lights there, and when I’m driving around at night. A smile instantly comes to my face!
I hope you all are warm, well-fed and with those who make you happy. Whichever you celebrate, have a great holiday!
Bye-bye November –or Movember– hello, December!
I can’t believe that it’s December already– time has really flown by this year. No seriously– anyone else feel like this year has just completely flown by? Feels like it was just September, I sneezed and now it’s December.
I completed another NaNoWriMo challenge and my draft is utter trash. But then again, it’s suppose to be. Besides writing and working, I’ve been looking at some other projects to consider, which I’m really excited about. I’m getting into the habit of doing yoga everyday. I’ve been doing it for a couple of months, but it hasn’t been everyday. I’m 2 days in so I’m hoping to keep it up. Not too much, but at least Sun Salutation everyday.
I’m aiming that 2016 will be as productive, if not more, as this year. I’ve got a couple of interviews for the blog coming up this week so stay tuned!
