“Oh, when she’s angry, she is keen and shrewd! She was a vixen when she went to school. And though she be but little, she is fierce.”– A Midsummer Night’s Dream
I was never too keen on Shakespeare, but there are moments when I fully understand what he was saying.

Since it’s July, I thought it was time to do a 6-monthish evaluation on my resolutions—really to gauge where I am, and if I need to do some adjusting.
So I’m sure many of you are caught up on the whole Universal Fancon fiasco, and yeah… it was a shitshow. I’d gotten the email along with the other Kickstarter backers around 1 P.M. Friday and had to break the news to my publisher (she was never notified). Thank God she hadn’t started to ship things out to the hotel or to me. My publisher was able to recoup the money she’d lost from her bank, but I don’t know if other vendors were able to do the same.
So now, we’ve got Anime North to look forward to! It’ll be my first trip to Toronto in many, many moons and I’ll have Memorial Day free to look around. So if you’ve got some suggestions on places I should check out, please hit me up and let me know.
I promise to get better with blogging this year. I’ve had so many real life events pop up that have deterred me concerning writing. But the year isn’t over yet and I’ve still got some writing goals to meet. I know it’s early but I’ve been thinking about NaNoWriMo—whether I plan to participate or not. It’ll depend on where I’m living. I’d planned to move this summer, but it may or may not be postponed until after this upcoming winter. So we’ll see—if I’m still in Baltimore and have time, I’ll do it. If I’m in the middle of another project (regardless of where I’m living), I’ll miss it this year.
Honestly in a way, I’m always doing NaNo, lol! Oh before I forget, I’ve found a podcast episode I’d forgotten I’d recorded. So as soon as I can edit it, I’ll post it. Good timing, as it’s an updated interview with Sharon, my publisher, while we were at a trade show and now, we’re about to head to another!
How do you continue on when your world changes in one night?
First, I apologize for the long ass delay. A couple of months ago, my best friend died. And then literally a day later, I was in the hospital with the flu. Needless to say, I’ve put pause on EVERYTHING and I’m just now starting to get back into the flow of things.
First, I must apologize for the long delay in my postings—recently I had a bout of bronchitis (that I really think started out as allergies but then mutated!) I took a quick trip to the hospital on Black Friday and surprisingly, didn’t stay too long thankfully. After a check to make sure it wasn’t pneumonia, I was given meds and a nebulizer treatment—which I must say really helped clear things up! I’ve never had a treatment before, though I’ve been asthmatic since I was 19.
This started out as an Instagram post, but the more I typed out I realized that this needed to be a blog post.
I know it’s been a minute since my last post but the school year has started and this means coming home exhausted and passing out. For those who don’t know, my day-job is a preschool teacher. The pay is ok but the schedule is very flexible so it works for my acting and writing schedule right now.
My kids are 2- and 3-years old so they’re getting used to the idea that school isn’t a bad place, and that mommy and daddy come back. But anyways, I just wanted to post quickly to say that if you’re in Baltimore, check out the Baltimore Book Festival and the Baltimore Comic Con this weekend. I’ll be around at the book festival, and I’ve got tickets to the opening of Charm Kitty Café so I’m excited about that.
Starting tomorrow, I’ll be doing another week of reposts on my Instagram, so check that out.
Oh my gosh, it’s good to be back! It’s been a minute, and I’ve had some things to catch up on since my last computer died.
Still miffed at Apple for fucking up the [non] service on my last computer, but thank God I’ve got some really great grandparents who were able to help me out with a new computer—blogging from your phone is not the business, just FYI. Great in a pinch, but that’s it.
My MacBook is doing something… special. I’ve no idea what it is and have zero idea of how to fix it.
*sigh* I’ve gotta wait now until someone I know I’d awake because Google was no help.
(This is what happens when you write at night– everyone else is sleeping.)
God willing it can be fixed because I’m not gonna be happy if I’m hit with “You need a new computer.” I’m not EVEN gonna touch on if my manuscript is now lost…
Yall pray for me.
