This started out as an Instagram post, but the more I typed out I realized that this needed to be a blog post.
I know it’s been a minute since my last post but the school year has started and this means coming home exhausted and passing out. For those who don’t know, my day-job is a preschool teacher. The pay is ok but the schedule is very flexible so it works for my acting and writing schedule right now.
My kids are 2- and 3-years old so they’re getting used to the idea that school isn’t a bad place, and that mommy and daddy come back. But anyways, I just wanted to post quickly to say that if you’re in Baltimore, check out the Baltimore Book Festival and the Baltimore Comic Con this weekend. I’ll be around at the book festival, and I’ve got tickets to the opening of Charm Kitty Café so I’m excited about that.
Starting tomorrow, I’ll be doing another week of reposts on my Instagram, so check that out.
Oh my gosh, it’s good to be back! It’s been a minute, and I’ve had some things to catch up on since my last computer died.
Still miffed at Apple for fucking up the [non] service on my last computer, but thank God I’ve got some really great grandparents who were able to help me out with a new computer—blogging from your phone is not the business, just FYI. Great in a pinch, but that’s it.
*sigh* I’ve gotta wait now until someone I know I’d awake because Google was no help.
(This is what happens when you write at night– everyone else is sleeping.)
God willing it can be fixed because I’m not gonna be happy if I’m hit with “You need a new computer.” I’m not EVEN gonna touch on if my manuscript is now lost…
Yall pray for me.
It’s officially summer! Today in Maryland, we received about 15 hours of daylight. Of course I had to look that up because I woke up just before noon, so I didn’t see the sun rise. I didn’t really do anything summery– just had a bunch of errands to run and still have a few more to do. So I’m going to head back to my “To do” list while y’all enjoy the song. Later!
I seriously apologize for the lack of entries on here—real life has been more challenging this year than before ::insert sad face::. I’m still recovering from another upper respiratory infection—balls—that has hampered some of my real life plans. But the good news is that the worst of the sickness has passed. I still have a lingering cough, which triggers my asthma, but a new medication is easing that. So within the last couple of days, I’ve had a little more energy.
No, the title isn’t a mistake. I purposefully typed it out that way. Because sometimes, you just gotta ask “Who is you?!” with the face.
The above image has really become my favorite meme since I’d found it sometime a couple of years ago. But tonight as I looked through my Instagram feed, I found a post I wanted to apply it to. And because of that rant inside my head, I was inspired to write this post.
(Shame that you can’t post images in the comments on IG, because I would’ve posted this there!)
I’m leaving for Europe later today (London, Paris, Milan) and I’m super excited! I’ve never been and am going to try to cram as much as I can in 4 days. I also just wanted to post a short post asking, what are you guys reading now? Since I’ve elected to leave my laptop home, I’m going to bring a couple of books with me and my tablet, which is housing about 100 books (I think!). I haven’t decided on which books yet, but they’d have to be mass-market paperbacks to save on space.
I do plan to vlog while I’m there since this is my 1st trip to these countries. And– depending on wifi– I may be snapchatting, so you can also follow me there (murjanian). When you’re traveling, what do you bring with you? Books? Movies? Tablet?
When I get back, I’ll post my 2017 goals list (overdue!) and update you guys on some upcoming trips and stuff.
This has been an interesting week. I feel that I’m slowly coming out of the slump I was in due to the clusterfuck of an election’s result, but I won’t be back to where I was before last Tuesday. I don’t any of us will be– those of us who didn’t vote for 45.
