Sometimes, it’s good to just strip things down to the basics.
It’s Monday– I need the energy. *dances*
It’s already Labor Day?! Guys, is it just me or is 2017 in a hurry to be done? Not that I’m complaining… (see: Brexit, cholera outbreak in Yemen, US 2016 Presidential Elections, Hurricane Harvey, etc.) But I am kinda excited to see what 2018 will hold.
(Hopefully some elected officials with some common fucking sense in this country.)
Happy Valentine’s Day guys! I know that most of y’all celebrate it everyday– if you even celebrate it at all– but have a great day regardless. In the words of Dan Savage, Fuck first!
This means before you go out to that fancy restaurant or to that show, get all of the boning out in the beginning. Because after that night out, you just may be too tired to bump pelvises.
Anyways, here’s one of my favorites from the late Gerald Levert. Enjoy!
I’d planned a Bonne Année post, complete with stuff I’d accomplished last year and with this year’s resolutions. And then, I looked at the calendar and saw what today was.
I recently saw an Unsung episode on Chanté Moore and I was reminded about how often I used to sing this song growing up. In fact, I was a big fan of hers and I’m ashamed to admit that I fell off. So, me and iTunes got reacquainted with her music.
Apologies that this post is a little late in the day, but I really wanted to get one posted despite all the busy work I had earlier today. I was going to make a Brian McKnight post, and then realized what today is; Michael Jackson was born on this day in 1958. I know my friend Billie has been BLASTING MJ all day– she’s his biggest fan.
I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out my favorite MJ song, and I don’t really think I have one. I mean, I love this song, and Smooth Criminal, and Thriller, and Human Nature… So I guess it’s safe to say that I pretty much almost all of his songs then. Funny thing, I don’t have any of his vinyls… So that’s another thing I’ve gotta add to the list of “Stuff I wanna buy”.
(I’ve got so many lists in my phone it’s ridic but that’s another post).
New job starts in a week, my mom is getting adjusted to London and my nephew was born a few days ago! So simcha all around! Gonna pop out to visit him now, so until next post!
Been on a 90s music kick all week so I thought to end it with this number. Apologies for the silence on this blog, I’ve been very busy with life in general.
