Tonight (this morning’s) theme: Love Ballad from LTD. This came out before my time, but I absolutely love this song.
Just finished reading: Gangsta Vol. 6. If you’re into shonen manga with guns, swords and handsome men, check it out.
About to start reading: The Cartel. I’d read the premise and it seemed very interesting, so I’ll give it a try.
Update: I’ve just sent off another rewrite to one of my Red Team members for notes so it may be a few days until I get them. This has been rewrite #3 and I’m always nervous when I do this. I’m afraid that the rewrites will suck and that I suck in general. Every writer goes through that feeling. But I trust them, so if something doesn’t work for the story, it’ll behoove me to listen. As I’ve stated before, I’ve a nasty habit of editing while I write, which only slows me down and completely jumbles everything in my mind. I’ve just tried writing it out on paper first before typing it, and so far it hasn’t given me any problems. So we’ll see if this is something I’ll keep up.
I’ve had the urge to watch Batman: Mask of the Phantasm for the past few days. It’s one of my favorite movies and I haven’t watched it in a long time. I’ll have to make some time for it later today.
Last night, me, Emie and another friend went to the last screening of Hump! Film Festival. It was our first time attending, and it was definitely interesting. If you’re not familiar, it’s an amateur pornography film festival. And—at least for me—it will take you a bit out of your comfort level. But the movies were smart, funny, quirky and heartfelt. The creators were some very imaginative people, and most—if not all of them—used small budgets to create the movies. Each movie was no more than 5 minutes long, and one was even shot on an iPhone 5S and looked amazing! I had no idea until the end credits. So while I didn’t walk away with any story ideas, it did inspire me to get serious about making a movie while I’m still in Baltimore. I’ve got a script idea in mind, just need to flush it out more. Once the novel is in a comfortable place, I’ll get cracking on it.
I think I’ll skip on doing NaNoWriMo this year. I’ve already got enough writing projects on my plate, I really don’t need to take on any more right now. I haven’t made a final decision yet, but as of right now, I don’t see me doing it.
