So my left hand has been sore for about 2 weeks now. I figured that I had overworked it while at work moving some cookbooks (those monsters are heavy!).
Even though I was resting it on my off days, the soreness persisted. I finally went to the hospital and thankfully, I don’t have a fracture. But they figured that I had pulled a tendon in my hand, hence the soreness.
If you follow me on twitter or Instagram, then you’ve seen the splint I have to wear for the week. It’s not bad, but I do have to get used to slowing it down for a minute. So instead of tying with one hand, I’m putting my writing on hold for the week. Doctor’s orders are to rest my hand, so that’s what I’ll be doing. I need my hands to be at 100%, so I think my characters can wait one week.
What are you guys up to this week?
Hope it gets better! Take care of yourself first.

Thank you! It does feel better, but I’m still going to take it easy this week– give it more time to heal.

Definitely need to! You don’t want to hurt it again while it’s healing because then it will take twice as long to heal. The brace is a good idea. 🙂

Cookbooks are the worst! I had to do a relay of the entire section one of my first weeks and my arms hurt for days. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you, I’m feeling much better. I’ve taken care to keep mindful of the weight my left hand will carry when I’m at work. And when I feel that it’s tired, I won’t carry anything– just rest it for however long it’ll take.
