Adventures in Writing: Minor setback

So my left hand has been sore for about 2 weeks now. I figured that I had overworked it while at work moving some cookbooks (those monsters are heavy!).

Even though I was resting it on my off days, the soreness persisted. I finally went to the hospital and thankfully, I don’t have a fracture. But they figured that I had pulled a tendon in my hand, hence the soreness.

If you follow me on twitter or Instagram, then you’ve seen the splint I have to wear for the week. It’s not bad, but I do have to get used to slowing it down for a minute. So instead of tying with one hand, I’m putting my writing on hold for the week. Doctor’s orders are to rest my hand, so that’s what I’ll be doing. I need my hands to be at 100%, so I think my characters can wait one week.

What are you guys up to this week?

  1. Cookbooks are the worst! I had to do a relay of the entire section one of my first weeks and my arms hurt for days. I hope you feel better soon!

    • Thank you, I’m feeling much better. I’ve taken care to keep mindful of the weight my left hand will carry when I’m at work. And when I feel that it’s tired, I won’t carry anything– just rest it for however long it’ll take.
